Cornmill Cafe at Nash Farm Shop, SA72 4SS: The upper floor of this Farm Shop is a cafe offering a good menu including breakfasts (served up to 11am), lunches, drinks and snacks, plus a specials board. The service is prompt and friendly, the food is well cooked and the portions are very generous. If you like, you can go downstairs to the butcher’s counter and choose a piece of meat, which will then be cooked for you. Closed Sundays. Tel: 01646 682445. Last visited: July 2017. Those of you who may have been put off by the badly rutted road leading to this cafe please note that as of June 2017 it has been resurfaced. Hooray!
Bethesda Farm & Coffee Shop, SA67 8HQ: An excellent farm shop, at the top of my list for local meat and produce, with a conservatory cafe serving freshly prepared and cooked meals and lovely Latte. The all day breakfasts here are particularly generous. The conservatory isn’t huge, but in the Summer there is additional seating outside. Open from Monday to Saturday in the Summer, Tuesday to Saturday in the Winter. Tel: 01437 563124. Last visited: December 2016.
Oriel y Parc, St Davids, SA62 6NW: This is an interesting find. It’s a tourist information centre but it’s also a showcase for local artists and craftspeople, an exhibition centre for works by Graham Sutherland, a place to find out about and join in local activities, and a very good cafe. Oriel y Parc is on the edge of St Davids, the smallest City in Wales. Be aware that the parking charge here is a bit steep in the Summer, but it’s free in the Winter. Open all year. Tel: 01437 720392. Last visited: September 2016.
